Elephant's Picture Book 
The man almost looks like a hand-colored photo. But not the rest. What an interesting illustration.
He looks like a collage to me. His hand does not seem to be his own. How do you feel about the odd stars? I don’t think any version of the flag has ever looked like this one – what was it 14 stars? Perhaps the German printer reworked a generic soldier for many different countries? He will be back tomorrow in a different pose.
