To buy him some linen,
But when she came back,
The Dog was a-spinning.

Heaven.
Everyone sees something different in this one!

Disturbing. LOL!
He is a busy dog!

This is one of the weirdest / most amazing things I have seen…
Her dog drinks, smokes, rides a goat . . . lots of things! Old Mother Hubbard is a nice pet parent always trying to please her dog!

Dog revolution! I just wonder do the little ones knit the weird cloths that their “mothers’ wear them during the winter? Just wondering why do they have to shave their cute little fur?
I like poodles fluffy coats – I don’t know why people clip them unless it is so they look a little crazy!

Beautiful Walter Crane illustration, everything in its it so finely drawn, and the colours are just gorgeous…. thanks for putting it on your blog.
I love this book – glad you enjoyed it. The drawings are beautiful and the “story” makes me smile!

This is one smart dog. And what a beautiful illustration.
Glad you enjoyed it Claudia – he is a smart dog!

I love the fact that he’s checking himself out in the mirror, and looking quite satisfied with his new togs… as well he should. But what happens next? Why is that stocking draped arm heading his way? Is the talented canine in for a swift cuff – or a loving pat?
Quite brilliant illustration. So good I’d like to like it twice!!!
Martin – you are such a wonderful follower! I will show the balance of this dog’s story! He does not get a cuff – he is very loved – but eventually he does die (for real) – Mother Hubbard loves him all the way!
Elephant
So glad to hear it. If I had a dog like that I’d love him too!
In fact, I did have a dog like that… except that he never quite mastered the art of spinning his own clothes.
Your blog is very very beautiful and I am only too happy to follow it. Keep up the good work – and thanks, very much (from all your avid followers), you can and do bring so much to my day.
Once again Martin thank you so much for your kind words – you always manage to find the right moment! I appreciate you!
Thanks again,
Elephant
A clever dog who spins finer clothes out of his own natural organic yarn.
He is something special!
