I love the bugs! Also love when picture book illustrations don’t look baby-ish. This so so pretty and makes the world seem so full of magic.
I like the bugs too – maybe they are crickets? I like 2 dimensional bugs – I am less fond of 3 D bugs.

I’m still a bit sad over a dead little bird, but everything else here is just dandy–and you?
I get sad when I am near any animal that dies. Death is sad and brings us right up against it. There is no small death. Sorry about the little bird.

That is so true…..there are certain magical elements in fairy tales that we tune into as children, and those of us that are lucky hold onto or rekindle that ability to tune in and resonate with it!
