“The Fairy Balloon”
Way down the Scottish glen rode fast the fairy men,
Each upon a cricket thoroughbred, sir.
They were quite plainly seen, dressed all in hunter’s green
With thistles in their jockey caps of red, sir.

This is really cute. This crickets don’t look very happy. I like the fairy men in their formal outfits and the hunting horn. Do you think they could be hunting the stag beetle? 🙂
Yes, undoubtedly the stag beetle!
Stag beetles are so beautiful, and a worthy object of a cricket hunt. 🙂 I’m so glad you agree.
