“I WENT OVER TO LOOK AT HIS PAINT-BOX”
“Dear, dear! My lad has put too much carrot in this time.” And he began to mix his paints in a great hurry, while the Lady Pig simpered and smiled, and said.
“Oh, Mr. Daubs, you are a funny fellow!”
When he had finished, I went over to look at his paint-box, for I had never heard of anyone using carrots to paint with before, and I thought he must have made a mistake, and had meant Carmine or Crimson Lake, or Yellow Ochre, or Green Bice, or one of the proper paints; but there it was in a dear little tube, labeled “Finest Carrot,” and there was another tube of “Turnip,” and one of “Mangold-Wurzel,” and one of “Parsnip,” and altogether they were the funniest paints I had ever seen.

Oh, who wouldn’t want to paint with ‘Carrot’ and ‘Parsnip’ etc? What fun. You could taste test them too.
Yes, it is very important at some point in your life to eat paint – so better these than most!
Elephant
Crayons made for quite interesting taste testing too.
Didn’t everyone eat crayons? Or at least chew on a few? There is something about color and taste – if you take more than a few crayon bites, well, you will get sick – but the taste test is an important moment!
Elephant
Indeed and crayon chewing was much better than chewing on lead pencils, which also had to be tried.
Very True!
