Dame Trot and her cat
Led a peaceable life,
When they were not troubled
With other folks’ strife.
When Dame had her dinner
Near Pussy would wait,
And was sure to receive
A nice piece from her plate.

Yes, nice on. I guess too nice, because I have tried it and my baby is still up and running! 😉
I don’t get it?
Elephant
I must be getting old; I remember this one.
You are not as old as the book! They reproduced these over the years so you likely remember a much more recent version. Never fear you are never old compared with people 20 years older! If nobody is say 10 years older than you – well, then you have to accept that you are indeed old! Otherwise you could still be somebody’s kid – a mere child!
Elephant
I’ll take the mere child option 🙂
