Dame Trot and her cat

Led a peaceable life,

When they were not troubled

With other folks’ strife.

When Dame had her dinner

Near Pussy would wait,

And was sure to receive

A nice piece from her plate.

A Book of Nursery Rhymes.

Arranged by Charles Welsh.

Illustrated by Clara E. Atwood.

    1. You are not as old as the book! They reproduced these over the years so you likely remember a much more recent version. Never fear you are never old compared with people 20 years older! If nobody is say 10 years older than you – well, then you have to accept that you are indeed old! Otherwise you could still be somebody’s kid – a mere child!
